Bijou Lakay is a line of jewelry, accessories hand-made by a community of several craftsmen. These ferocious workers of art come from various parts of the country and have migrated to the Haitian capital, to seek a better way. Ancestral Methods transmitted orally and by rudimentary equipment, such are two assets that these groups of men have, being hard-working and full of life. They have learned from their elders, bruised hands, burning passion often to produce a gem, the products in bull-horn.
This 100% handmade line in Haiti has been a source of income for at least 10 families. Because of these stable revenues, the craftsmen children have access to education. Families can meet their needs without having to ask for charity.
Bijou Lakay is available in the USA and the Caribbean and via www.bijoulakayhaiti.com.
